The Walled Garden Launch night

Hi everyone,

I know this isn't my typical kind of post but I just wanted to give a review on a taster night I went to the other day.

I heard about The Walled Garden whilst looking for a venue to hold our works Christmas party this year.

It looked beautiful and had a Parisian theme this year so I was anxious to apply when I read that they were holding a Launch evening to run through the food and atmosphere and that anyone could attend as long as they were on the list.

I told my friend Monet about this straight away and she applied for both of us. I couldn't wait when she said that we could go. It seemed to take forever to come around to the day.

We pulled into Beeston Fields Golf Club and made our way down the long drive to the Walled Garden and it was so beautiful and romantic as soon as you saw the entrance to the marquee.

We were early so they couldn't allow us in for a while but asked us to wait in the bar in the golf club.

This was an agonising wait as I was anxious to get going with our evening but we were asked to make our way back through after a few minutes.

We walked in to hear an accordianist playing Parisian type music and got handed a glass of prosecco straight away.

My friend Monet doesn't drink so she asked for a non-alcoholic version to which she was told they didn't have anything other than water. We asked the organiser and she got her a glass of juice but we did note this down on the feedback form.

We walked around the place to get a feel of it and took some photos to show you what was included for the evening.

I loved the parasols hanging from the marquee ceiling and thought they added a fantastic touch.

The tables were adorned with a glitter runner and mini Eiffel Towers.
The dance floor was decorated with lit up letters spelling out DANCE but with an Eiffel Tower for the 'A'. A gorgeous touch.

We were handed canapes as we walked around also tried one of the macarons that were offered. All very tasty.

We were asked to take our seats for the meal and were quickly given 'taster' pots of the 3 course meal you can expect on the night.

We enjoyed;

* Creamy white onion and brie soup with crispy fried onions
* French trimmed chicken supreme, wild mushroom and red wine sauce, seasonal vegetables and fondant potatoes
* Raspberry, white chocolate and pistachio profiteroles

The food tasted so good and I wished there was more of it.

We were also presented with 3 free cocktail vouchers upon arrival so I thought I'd give one a go. I tried the Lemon de Lychon which was described as a shot of gin, lemon syrup and topped with prosecco. Wow! This was strong. I couldn't finish it as it was burning my throat as it went down!

Once we'd ate our meal, it was time for a quick dance on the tiled dance floor and then home time. We completed our feedback form in as much detail as possible and got into our 'carriage' for the trip home.

The night at the Walled Garden was gorgeous and perfectly themed for a Parisian Marquee.

Thank you to all that put effort into the evening and I hope to see you all again soon.

Much love and thanks for reading,

New cards

Good afternoon,

I've made a few cards recently and I thought I'd share them with you. Here we go;

These are made with my new Tattered Lace dies. The top two are made wholly with the Oval Shutter Card die and bottom card is made using the Chantilly Tiara die and the flowers from the Oval Shutter Card set.

These cards are some others that I made for my friends sons birthdays.

I hope you like these cards. Please leave your comments below if you have any.

New posts coming soon.

Much love,

A few cards made recently

Good afternoon,

I wanted to show you a few of the cards I've made recently.

I am heading into a new stage of crafting as I recently treated myself to a Big Shot Plus. I've never owned a die cutting machine before (even though I've wanted one for ages) but never had the guts to spend in excess of £100 on one crafting thing! But I did it and plunged head first and all I can say is I LOVE IT!

I bought it at the recent Crafting Live show at Doncaster Racecourse (along with lots of other beautiful things) and I couldn't wait to open it when i got home and some of the cards below are what I made using it.

This was a card I made for two of my friends. They'd recently got engaged and I thought this card was the perfect sentiment for them.
I used some papers and toppers from an old Making Cards for Special Occasions magazine.

This was a card I'd made for a friends birthday. She loves all things sewing and I couldn't resist the opportunity to use the Hunkydory card and toppers that match her personality.

This card was made using my new die cutting machine and two of the free dies I got to choose to accompany my purchase. I loved this little dog and thought it went great with the black and white theme with red accents.
Not bad for my first go at die cutting if I do say so myself!

This was also made with another of the free dies I got with my machine. I had this idea for a clean and simple card made with rainbow sentiments. I love the way this turned out albeit a little fiddly to line all of the 'thank you's' up in the right place.

That's all the cards for the time being but there are lots more to come in the next few weeks. Please keep checking back and of course I'll notify you by social media once I get a new post uploaded.

Long time no blog and some very exciting news!

Hi all,

I'm really sorry that I haven't updated this blog for a long while but from now on I promise I will behave and be a good blogger!

I've still been cardmaking throughout my time away from the blog and have made many cards but unfortunately I haven't taken any pictures to show you.

From now on I will update regularly and I hope to hear from all of you on my posts.

Anyways, some very exciting news - I've been accepted onto the Design Team of Crafting.co.uk also known as Craft Channel Productions and/or Tattered Lace! WOW!!

I'm so excited to get started with them and to show you all that I have made as part of their team.

I will be back very soon so keep your eyes peeled for future posts.

Thanks for your patience and thanks for reading.

Sorry...........

Good morning blog followers,

I'm sorry it's been a while. Things have been hectic to say the least and I haven't been crafting an awful lot so there hasn't seemed to be much time to blog and much to show you. But I have now . . . . .

A couple of weeks ago, my friend asked me to make a card for her mums 60th birthday. She didn't give me much to go on with regards to a theme (just that she liked normal mum things) so I came up with this card . . . . . . . . . .

I thought that House Mouse would be perfect for the job that the card was intended for. I resisted putting '60' on the card because although it was a special birthday, she probably didn't want reminding of that fact ! ! ! I also thought that because the sentiment on the card was 'For a Very Special Lady', that if she wanted to she could leave the card on show all year round.

Hope you like.

Until next time (hopefully not too long to wait ! ),

Splashy/Water Themed

This blog will be based around water as I'm going to enter these cards into the C.R.A.F.T. Challenge blog and that is their theme this week.

The first and last card are ones that I made. The middle two cards are ones that my mum has made to enter into this blog challenge.

The image used is a Kenny K download which happened to be a free download this week so I thought it was fate and just had to be used.

The rest of the items used were from my crafty stash.

Hope you all like.

Many thanks for reading.

Special Card for Special People

Good morning,

This is my first ever scheduled post so I hope it works. Fingers crossed.

I wanted to show you a very special card I have made recently for 2 special people (one who is returning to my life, and the other who is joining my life).

Jessica left to go to Australia, just over a year ago and she is returning back home today with her fiance Nelly.

I can't wait to see Jess after such a long time for a catch up and can't wait to meet Nelly.

I just had to make a card for their return home and I'm going to send it to their house so it will be ready and waiting for them when they walk in the door.

Hope you all like.

Can't wait to see them both.

Thanks for reading.
